An umbrella community charity for New Cross and Telegraph Hill
I have just finished our monthly Lewisham rough sleepers meeting where we discuss each of the known rough sleepers and try to co-ordinate their options to get housed. The list of names is long, very long. The annual count of rough sleepers is at the end of the month and it will be interesting to see how it compares to last year’s total of sixteen.
Almost 100 trees already sold
Here at King’s Christmas Trees we have been very busy. As soon as the website went live at the end of October we started takings orders and dealing with enquires. Thank you for your support – we have almost sold over 100 trees!
If you have already ordered your tree you will continue to get these weekly emails for a few more weeks. We hope you don’t mind but if you really don’t want to get them you can unsubscribe. But we really don’t want you to do that – we have lots more exciting information about King’s Christmas Trees and The Jericho Road Project.

What makes the King’s Christmas Trees different?
All the profits go directly to helping homeless people. For thirteen years The Feast has provided a safe place for the weakest and most vulnerable to meet. Their aim is not to keep people stuck in their poverty. They encourage everyone who attends to become part of the solution – this may involve taking responsibility for an aspect of the evening. Examples are preparing the room, serving the meals and helping clear up at the end of the evening. All very Bold Vision – y
They also welcome people who are living in vulnerable situations working to prevent people getting evicted by helping people address debt issues, talking with housing associations and helping people take responsibility for their situation.
On Monday 16th December the Hill Station will be running a Christmas Lunch for any local residents who work from home and would love to have a Christmas Social! Get your ticket here
Starting at 12noon we will offer:
* A welcome drink and nibbles
* A seasonal starter
* Christmas meal complete with all the trimmings
* Christmas pudding and mince pies,
* Coffee and chocolates.
and yes there’ll be crackers and silly hats and some live music.

The price for the set 3 course meal is £18.00 (or £30 for two or more people booked in as a group) and you will be able to bring your own wine or beer for a small corkage fee.
This will be a great opportunity to network with other local home-workers and share some seasonal spirit – or at least show how happy you are that you don’t have to go to an official Christmas office party !
