Fence-tastic!!!

Hi,

The ‘Art in the Garden’ event in July was a great success, and the result is now visible on the Common Growth fence on Sandbourne Rd! All the beautifull letters and flowers that were painted by children and adults alike have transformed the entrance to our community garden.

Hopefully our new ‘look’ will inspire many more enthusiastic gardeners to come and help out in the garden :-)

We now have a bounty of delicious vegetables growing in the raised beds. Come and claim your rewards for an aftenoon of helping out in the garden. There is always plenty to do!

    Hi Philippa,

We planted the garlic cloves in late Autumn in a sunny spot with lots of space around them – say spaced out by at least 20cm. Then we didn’t do anything to them at all apart from some occasional weeding. We harvested the bulbs in July when the leaves started to go yellow and brown. It was the first time we tried, so I’m not sure it was just beginners luck!
