Free money from Sainsbury

Give as you live
sburyA few months ago I registered Bold Vision for Give as you Live and signed up myself. Since then without doing anything different to normal, this has raised over £30 for Bold Vision. You can do it too. It’s very quick and easy then happens automatically when you shop online.

And now Sainsbury’s are offering us 4% if you sign up for their new ‘Everyday’ card. Mine just came. If you ever use Sainsburys, get your card here and help support the local community projects like New Cross Learning, Common Growth and Grow Wild without any extra cost to you.

 

Big Lunch Big Success Jun 7

Highlights in Summary:

  • 550 people came along to Sunday’s Big Lunch
  • Everyone who wanted free food had it –  something like 200 burgers/sausages donated by the Hill Station
  • We had 22 stalls and all of the traders loved having the opportunity to sell and promote their wares
  • We had 13 different bands/solo performers from Beat Boxing to Gospel to Joy Choir to Rasta and SKA band2015-06-07 14.04.23
  • We raised £475 for Nepal and Syrian refugee projects
  • Lots of new people came up at the end and said they had really felt welcomed and appreciated the opportunity to be part of the community vibe.
  • Good that we had new links with House of Bread church and the New Life church which meets at Askes
  • The kids activities which Kate and Catherine did were great
  • The Zumba dancing went down so well.
  • Although takings at the café were down on the day (with so much free food outside) we were able to offset that with a good bar on the day so that’s good.2015-06-07 16.36.33
  • We had lots of volunteers (including 4 Askes boys) who stayed till the end to help clear up- THANKS!
  • Lots of photos and nice comments on Facebook
