If you were at the Bold Vision AGM or havbe been involved with the community garden on Arica Road, you may have already come across the impressive Sachen Whyte. And now Sachen as been shortlisted for the Inspirational Tenant of the Year at this year’s Housing Heroes Awards for his work at MacMillan House funded and supported by Lewisham Homes.

The Housing Heroes Awards are hosted by the Chartered Institute of Housing and Inside Housing Magazine. Winners will be announced on 11 May 2012. The Southern TPAS awards will be announced on 4 May 2012.

Bold Vision recently agreed to be the incubator for the MacMillan House garden project masterminded by Sachen.

On 7 Jun Sachen won 2 awards at the Lewisham Make a Difference Awards ceremony. There were 8 categories with 3 nominees within each category. Sachen won the 1st place of the category for the Young Mayor’s Young Volunteer Award and then at the end of the night he won the overall winner of all the categories for The Mayor’s Award presentation. His mum Heather commented “We were astounded, overwhelmed and very, very proud of him.”
