Free Film Festival for New Cross in 2012?

Telegraph Hill Park and Goldsmiths College are two possible venues for a proposed New Cross Free Film Festival in 2012. Jacqui from the Cafe in the Park and Luke and Simone from Goldsmiths College are keen to hear from anyone who would like to help organise the festival or has idea for other venues. The plan for a Free Film Festival in New Cross follows the success of the Peckham and Nunhead Free Film Festivals in 2010 and 2011.

Venues such as a cemetery, Peckham Rye Park, a centre for wildlife gardening and a multi-storey car park roof were turned into cinemas for free film screenings which the whole community could enjoy.

If you’d like to get involved in planning the New Cross Free Film Festival, or would just like to find out more, why not come along to an informal meeting at the New Cross House pub, 8pm, Tues 15 November. If you can’t make the meeting but want to get involved, then simply email either Luke (lukejameswallis@hotmail.co.uk) or Jacqui (cafeinthepark@live.co.uk). Hope to see you there.
