Permaculture course – “the living soil”, compost and worms
Common Growth Community Garden, Sandbourne Road, SE4
Saturday 19th May, 10.30am to 12pm
Trainer: Suriya Peiris

In the second of a series of 6 workshops Common Growth Community Garden will be exploring how to put the principles of permaculture into practice. This workshop will examine soil, compost and worms. There will be a practical exercise to make a DIY wormery.
We suggest you either donate £3 or give a commitment of your time to the garden this summer.

Save The Ivy House Pub

Local South East London residents are presently campaigning to save the Ivy House pub (Stuart Road, Nunhead, SE15). The pub, until recently, had been run as a community enterprise before it was shut down. Read more about the group’s efforts to buy the freehold and rescue this iconic building here.

Launch 19 May New Cross Library invitation /and cake request

Dear Friends & Volunteers of New Cross Library

You are warmly invited to come and celebrate the launch of New Cross Library’s new name, New Cross Learning, and our new shop front, at the library on Saturday 19 May at 2pm.

It’s been an amazing year since the library was closed in May 2011 – and then it was reopened with your help.

This is a celebration for our volunteers and people who use the library. There will be very short speeches (!), and some demonstrations of amazing street dance, music, and story telling a book quiz and craft activities from 2pm-5pm.

There will be a book sale too, and we will be serving refreshments. If you can bring some cakes to share with people, ideally with our new name, NXL on them (cupcakes particularly desired) please email mail@luciagraves.org or tell Kathy or Gill. As ever, we will have a box for donations on the counter.
